In many parts of the county, large, development-ready business sites near major metropolitan areas are a rare commodity. Not so in the White Marsh-Middle River area, where a new commercial development is paying big dividends for eastern Baltimore County. The $60-million extension of MD Route 43, funded by the State of Maryland and Baltimore County, is under construction to stimulate economic growth in the Baltimore marketplace. Weather permitting, the road is slated to open in late 2005.
